What exactly is THB bro? Don't spout things you don't know about. You discredit yourself and your ignorant cohorts. As to your friend, people not being able to control themselves is a fault of weak minds, not tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). If it was such a problem in his life, as his friend, why didn't you get him somekind of help? Counseling maybe could have helped. Try that in the future instead of rambling online.

This article is taking some serious liberties. As an ex-pothead myself, I can assure you that the only consequences of smoking too much pot is not "waking up refreshed". As with any activity that is literally killing you brain, you do not wake up refreshed. Just because you cannot overdoes does not mean that you cannot die a marijuana related death. Not all alcohol related deaths are due to alcohol poisoning, and it's certainly not the case either with marijuana. It should also be noted that there are more things at stake than death causing it to be illegal. Marijuana leads to other drugs, where Tylenol does not. Drug addicts like to claim that there is no proof, but find me a Meth addict that didn't get started on pot. Tylenol also doesn't create a society of losers making no contribution of their own. You don't find homeless people that refuse to get a job on the basis that they won't have time to take Tylenol. These are just a few reasons.
Amazingly, the drug that we thought can help us cure sickness can cause our death, if abused. FDA should be more strict in their policies.
This article is neither balanced or accurate. It's correct that more deaths can be attributed to acetaminophen overdose however if the availability and popularity of acetaminophen is taken into account this is not surprising. With the easy access people have to acetaminophen and the huge number of doses taken every day it is understandable some will not follow the packet directions and take too much. Countless studies have also shown that acetaminophen is taken in intentional overdoses because it can easily be purchased and most households have a supply on hand. This is in complete contrast to cannabis.
Acetaminophen is the most commonly used analgesic for a reason. It is, as drugs go, an extremely safe drug. Listing the fatal dose is inappropriate (because it gives people who want to overdose a goal) but the doses mentioned in the article are absolutely incorrect. The number of tablets required for a fatal overdose is huge. Fatal overdoses from acetaminophen are very rare compared to the large number of people who take acetaminophen overdoses.
I am in no way anti-cannabis, actually more the other side. However, making claims such as those in the article need to be firstly accurate and secondly balanced if they are to be taken seriously.
@Toxicologist youre saying that because more people use tylenol more frequently than its to be expected there are more deaths, even though its a safer drug than marijuana? or are you just saying tylenol isnt too bad? because marijuana is a clear cut safer choice. if you are implying that the only reason more deaths happen from tylenol is because of the ammount taken vs the ammount of marijuana smoked, than there is a simple formula to find that out.
ex. if there are 100,000 people who use tylenol 100 times a year. and only 10000 people that use marijuana 10 times a year. than there should be 10 times less deaths from marijuana if they are equally toxic. problem is there are 0 deaths attributed to marijuana. and since some 83 million people smoke it, i dont care if tylenol only kills 1 or 2 people a year, its clearly more toxic. im not saying it she be illegal, but if its legal, marijuana should be too.
Yes, but they say its the Devil, but death is the real devil right, sure, seems like America is on the wrong path, I mean when was the last time you saw a pot smoking bank robber, Yes that's right they might actually think about it but there not getting off that couch.
As someone who lost a friend to paranioa brought on by marjuana use, when he decided he was trapped and ran out of the room and before anyone could stop him jumped from his 9th floor balcony in front of a room full of people including myself, You will never convince me that marijuana doesn't cause any deaths. For those who wonder his entire toxicology came back clean with the excption of the THB and a BAC of 0.00. There was no question in the mind of the police as to what was responsible, they told me that it was a common occurance and they saw serious injuries and deaths related to activities done under the influence of marjuana on a regular basis. Granted he had done a rediculously large amount of marajuana, but don't ever suggest it's safe to OD on any drug, there are always consequences. Be responsible with your usage.
RON PAUL 2012!!! End the Fed,The War on Drugs and all the illegal overseas wars. All of them are comeplete failures that ruin American liberty and lives!
0 die from consensual intercourse with a minor, so I'm guessing that too should be legalized? Pervert.
The subject being discussed is consumption of drugs/substances, not having sex, you fucking idiot. Not to mention the fact that an individual consuming a substance does not necessarily affect any other individual, while having sex with other individuals does. Seems like you need to practice your thinking skills, dumbass.
thats right...100 die from tylenol overdose..but with marijuana, very few die of overdose..as they die even before they overdose...grow up druggies
Yeah, they die of old age!! lol Open your mind Square!! Base your opinion on fact not what you learned back in D.A.R.E. class!!
This is an absolute lie, thousnads are killed in automobile accidents due to marijuana intoxication
Sorry Charlie, there is no evidence that what your saying is accurate, nice try, the trouble with so many people is that for more than 30 years, there has been a war of propaganda, in the form of movies designed to create the false impression that something is true when it is not actually true.
Propaganda has been used in every war since the beginning of time, the only difference here is that this War is on the people, not the drugs.
true, cannabis may not kill the body,.... but research the link between cannabis and psychosis... kids not just getting a "little paranoid", but also seeing things, hearing voices, becoming delusional... ok you may think I'm making it up but I have seen it happen...
Kids see things when they drink too much too! Kids should be restricted to access of cannabis. Its easier now for kids to get weed than alcohol, legalize and regulate it would make it tougher.
And they probly loved it. Weed is not a "DRUG". YOU have probably never experienced it for yourself. Let me ask you a question though, have you ever indulged in the DRUG known as "alcahol"? Cuz I've done both, many many times, and weed causes far less problems and has way beter effects than those of alcahol
Big Problem,Legalize it and watch the economy boom. Businesses opening tax money collected. BIG Business.Farmers can grow it again and we can then make clothes here that will last and last. - More Jobs.Bakery's will of course see an upturn in business. Lets not forget Visine sales will also see an increase. Good thing all around.
THC is classified as both a Schedule I and Schedule III drug under the Controlled Substances Act. Which means that by the law's definition: THC shows a lower propensity for abuse than THC. People often forget that THC is legal in all 50 states through the medication Marinol. http://news.yahoo.com/marijuan...
!!BREAKTHROUGH!! Hermaphrodite test for your cannabis plants! http://wp.me/pJR5Y-16B
A few years ago I attended a class at a local hospital on pain management. The doc said that as an anesthesiologist he had scrubbed in on many liver transplants. Over half of them were from too much Tylenol. Hmm.Makes you wonder.Great article, thanks Steve and Jack, too.Keep it green.
If you live in Connecticut and want to end marijuana prohibition in our state, please take a minute to visit www.ctprimaryproject.com.
Please pass this on to anyone you know in Connecticut!
Legalize all drugs plants it is one gift from Gud.Chemicals to the big pharma killing more people and Ilegal drugs..
U.S. federal government in response to the above. What problem are you talking about. Our most generous benefactor BIG PHARMA says this is blown way out of proportion. Yeah like thousands of deaths from legal drugs vs. 0 from marijuana. Just balance the scales and everything is forgotten.
