" If you appreciate California weed -- as I have for many years -- you'll realize that we're somewhat close to the money when we say that California has surpassed Thailand, Jamaica, South Sudan and certainly Mexico as the king and queen of quality weed," The US forced a worldwide ban on the plant and because the whole production is now pretty much legal in a few states, the quality logically increases. But before making such silly statement he should think of the Mexican, Thai, Sudanese, Jamaican farmers etc. and their families that pay the consequences of the US policy to this day! Getting close to the money? Would any of them worry to have lower quality than Californian weed? They don't care about quality much, all they want is to survive and to do so, they choose the most profitable crop even if that makes them criminals in the eye of the American Law (a foreign country to them...). The US governements even got the UN to implement it worldwide so they are not officially responsible. In a legal configuration, traditional farmers would definitely make as good quality as the weed from California, if not better considering such thing possible (how can we judge such thing since Cannabis has a very different effects that depends on the user himself and his moodset?). But because of these greedy governements that succeded at the head of the most immature and childish nation, the whole world has to suffer a ban on the most useful plant known to mankind... And now even notorious rich pot heads like Stone think they have an interest to get in the business? Leave the seat for the people that need it, leave it to the black and latino community, them who paid the harshest price (and keep on paying it) in the country for this war on minorities, leave it to the mexican farmers that are now forced into growing GMO crops provided by US agrobusiness like Monsanto, leave it to the rest of the world and stop considering the US as the greatest country in the world! You no better than anybody else on that planet and if there is a god, he probably stoped blessing that land when the first European settlers arrived... Excuse the ranting but I can't stand people in his position declaring what poor people around the world wish they could do to feed their families but can't, for the very same people (rich influencial American citizens) are the one who forced them in the criminal world. If he wants to get in the business, he can make movies as others here suggested! Peace!

| Oliver Stone: "I believe the grass is God's gift" |
Stone, a longtime cannabis advocate, spent a little time in jail in the late 1960s when he was caught with pot at the U.S./Mexican border, but as is usually the case, that didn't dissuade him from his herbal enthusiasm, reports Star Magazine.
"If you appreciate California weed -- as I have for many years -- you'll realize that we're somewhat close to the money when we say that California has surpassed Thailand, Jamaica, South Sudan and certainly Mexico as the king and queen of quality weed," Stone told High Times. (Wait, WTF, South Sudan?)
"I'm thinking myself of getting into the business, although I suspect there'd be a lot of stress with the Feds changing the rules all the time," the Natural Born Killers director said.
"I believe the grass is God's gift," Stone told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. "California makes the best in the world now ... All my life I've been doing it, off and on. I can stop marijuana ... I'm not addicted. I enjoy it. I also enjoy alcohol.
"Cocaine, I stay away from, but I believe in LSD, mescaline, mushrooms, ayahuasca," the director said. "Ecstasy is great, too."
He's not a fan of Prozac, however.
"I've taken medication, but it doesn't work for me," Stone said. "I'm not a Prozac person anymore; I've already taken too much of that. I feel you have to confront it on a spiritual basis."
