YouTube has become a great resource for cannabis growers. Want to learn how to get better yields from your plants? Go to YouTube. Want to learn how to make ice wax? YouTube. There’s plenty of instructional videos on all sorts of topics posted either by legal cultivators in states where cannabis is legal or clandestine, secretive growers who don’t divulge their identities or locations.
Jason Pelletier is neither of those, according to Las Vegas police.

News flash: Plenty of people in Colorado regularly engage in outdoor recreational activities after using marijuana. But the notion of a so-called “Hash Hike,” slated to take place on (we’re pretty sure) Saturday morning on a nearby 14er, has resulted in online vibe-harshing between the Reddit users coordinating it and more traditional climbers.
The location for the hike is Mt. Bierstadt, which some describe as being one of the easiest 14ers to summit. Mt. Bierstadt’s accessibility means it frequently draws a crowd. During one reader’s most recent visit earlier this summer, he says people were lined up on the trail waiting for their chance to move even further above sea level.

Tractor trailers are often used to haul hidden stashes of marijuana around the country. It’s not often, though, that you hear about them being used to grow marijuana*.
Cops in Johnson County, Texas say they spent all of last month staking out a property outside of Rio Vista, Texas that was hiding an old 18-wheeler trailer stuffed full of grow lights and 31 plants in various stages of bloom.

The New Hampshire House took a big step in the right direction last night, voting to approve a measure that will decriminalize up to an ounce of marijuana, with a maximum punishment of a fine of $100. Currently, possession of an ounce carries up to a year in jail and $2,000. The bill also makes the cultivation of up to six plants a misdemeanor charge instead of a felony charge.

“Medical marijuana may be right for you.” That is all the sign out in front of doctor Brian Murray’s office said Wednesday afternoon, and there was a line out the door according to the Chicago Tribune.
Murray is the first physician to open up his doors in the city specifically for diagnosing patients who think they might benefit from medical cannabis. The only issue is: medical marijuana won’t be available legally for some time in the state.

We read a lot of fucked-up stories related to cannabis here at Toke, but this one might be the most disturbing we’ve read in a long, long time.
Two California men aged 30 and 24 have been charged with keeping a 15-year-old girl as a work/sex slave on their heavily-armed Clearlake marijuana farm, locking the girl in a 4x2x2 metal box for days on end according to local news KCRA.com.

Kentucky state Sen. Perry Clark, a Democrat from Louisville, announced late last week that he will again be pushing medical marijuana legislation in his state. He made his plans public last Thursday at a party for supporters at his house.
Clark’s two previous attempts in 2012 and 2013 failed to even get a hearing. Clark says that isn’t going to be the case this session as legislators are poised to debate his bill August 21 in a Health and Welfare joint committee (no pun intended).

Some ganja farmers in Florida are learning what happens when you tell too many people about your cultivation operation today as police continue to clean up a grow house in a Miami suburb.
At least, we assume it was loose-lips because it wasn’t someone ratting out the grower that caused this. It was burglars trying to rob the grow that caused neighbors to call the police and set the whole thing in motion.
