Plane ticket to your inner mind, also known as LSD.

A Washington man on a psychedelic bender was busted raising hell all across the small community of Roy earlier this month, in which his hallucinogenic journey led him down a debaucherous path to committing several home invasions, robbery and even forcing someone at gunpoint to take him to a local fast food joint.

Andrew Johnson.

Minneapolis Councilman Andrew Johnson is one of those rare characters in the medical marijuana debate, playing both politician and patient. He was diagnosed only a few years ago with an extreme form of glaucoma in both eyes, he says. Before major surgeries, his doctors have prescribed conventional medicine to decreased pressure, one of which had the potential to be fatal.
“Our legislators allowed me to be on a drug that could kill me, but not medical marijuana,” Johnson says. “I have, as a result, less vision in my eyes.”
The Minneapolis City Pages has more on Johnson’s story.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell: “Because of the harm that substances like marijuana and other narcotics pose to our society, I have concerns about this legislation”

From time to time we are reminded just how much work remains when it comes to educating politicians and the public about cannabis. One of those times is now: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) has warned a constituent via a letter that he doesn’t support medical marijuana legalization because, among other reasons, smoking pot can lead to death.

In a February 4 reply to his constituent, McConnell ticked off some “serious concerns” he has about legalizing weed for medicinal purposes, the topic about which the constituent had written him, reports Jennifer Bendery at the Huffington Post.

Argos called me last week to see if his writer friend wanted to learn how to make Humm Tea. The first time I heard of Humm Tea, I thought it was Humboldt’s version of an Arnie Palmer. A local beverage that was probably infused with something medicinal that you’d take with natural sugar.
Imagine my surprise when I learn that Humm Tea, or Compost Tea, was a natural concoction made from guano or some other form of doodie that is blended and stirred while adding some other naturally elements like banana skins for potassium for around thirty-six hours. This living growing breathing shake is then sprayed on plants for a variety of reasons and applications.

This five-pound brick of marijuana mailed to an unsuspecting elderly couple in Pennsylvania last week. The cannabis has an “estimated street value” of from $10,000 to $20,0000.

Police are trying to figure out who mailed a five-pound brick of marijuana with a street value estimated up to $20,000. The weed was sent to an unsuspecting elderly couple in Pennsylvania.

The delivery arrived last Wednesday via UPS to the home in Upper Darby, reports 6 ABC Action News. The couple didn’t recognize the name on the package and thought it had arrived by mistake.
Not yet realizing what was inside, they left it on the front porch, thinking it would be retrieved.

I’ll have one of each, please.

While cannabis-infused soft drinks have been around for awhile, a new brand, Canna Cola, seems to have hit a marketing sweet spot, because its February debut in Colorado is getting a ton of media buzz.

Canna Cola is positioning itself as the “light beer” of marijuana drinks, since it has a lower THC content (35 to 65 mg) than other brands currently on the market, according to Scott Riddell of marketers Diavolo Brands, reports Wallace Baine of the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
“It’s got a mild marijuana taste,” Riddell told the Sentinel. “But the taste factor is really negligible compared to some competitors with three times the THC. When you get to that level, you really have a heavy aftertaste.”

Florida Rep. Darryl Rouson says these are “destructive utensils” that “destroy communities”

A bill passed Wednesday will make it illegal to sell bongs and other glass pipes in Florida.

The “Bong Bill” passed unanimously by both the Senate (36-0) and now by the House (115-0) heads to the desk of Florida Gov. Charlie Crist for his signature, reports Brian Hamacher at NBC Miami.
The bill outlaws the sale of the pipes by businesses that don’t make at least 75 percent of their money from tobacco sales, or if they make more than 25 percent of their money from selling the pipes.
Violators could face up to a year in jail.

Are these bongs “destructive utensils” that “destroy communities”? The Florida Senate thinks so.

The Florida Senate has unanimously passed a bill that would ban the sale of glass smoking pipes at most stores that currently carry them.

Senate Bill 366 requires 75 percent of a business’s gross sales to come from tobacco products before they are allowed to sell bongs, water pipes and “air-driven pipes,” reports WJHG.
It passed the Senate unanimously, 36-0, on Wednesday.
Supporters of the legislation claim the pipes can be used to smoke illegal drugs like marijuana and cocaine.
The proposal could hurt some businesses, like Condom Knowledge in Panama City Beach.
