As if making criminals out of marijuana users and growers wasn’t bad enough, Now we’ve got people becoming criminals for making fake marijuana in their home thanks to the prohibition of the real thing. The Dallas Observer has the full story of Mohsin Zia, a 24-year-old Iving, Texas man, who allegedly burned down his apartment complex – including the units and possessions of 56 of his neighbors – while trying to make synthetic pot out of items he discovered in online forums.

While outrageous, it’s actually just another sad example of why this war on a plant is such a failed endeavor.

The community of maternal marijuana legalization activists was rocked this past weekend when a cannabis quilt, the product of two years and more than 70 pairs of hands, was stolen from atop a Ford Explorer parked at the CVS on Thornton Lane in Irving, Texas by some heartless asshole who later abandoned it on the side of an interstate. In 2010, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) was one of the most vocal and powerful voices opposed to Proposition 19, the failed ballot effort in California which would of legalized cannabis.
In 2011, MADD furthered this misplaced opposition by partnering with the ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy, headed by our nation’s Drug Czar) in a nationally coordinated effort to combat “drugged driving.” In other words; joining forces to oppose efforts to reform our failed cannabis policies, working towards unscientific per se driving laws, and continuing to spread the same misinformation the ONDCP has become famous for.
In taking this approach, MADD is counteracting their own agenda. By working to defeat the legalization of cannabis, they’re directly responsible for fatalities that could of otherwise been avoided.

Texas Women Endured Aggressive Fondling of Private Parts In Public

Two Texas women are filing a lawsuit after state troopers gave them an aggressive roadside body cavity search last July — supposedly “searching for drugs” — which was caught on video.

Female state trooper Kellie Helleson is seen aggressively fondling the private parts of Angel Dobbs, 38, and her niece Ashley Dobbs, 24 — in full view of passing vehicles, reports the Daily Mail.

The women said the trooper used the same rubber gloves for both of them. They said Trooper Helleson used her fingers to publicly probe their anuses and vaginas on the roadside.
