Are you a health-conscious stoner who has adopted that vape lifestyle? Sick of people lighting up the old fashioned way? Well, boy, do we have the music video for you!

Miami indie-pop/hip-hop band Furious Leisure’s mini-film for their vape anthem “Vape Life” imagines the duo riding around town arresting anyone who dares light up a joint. Instead of a jail time, the offender gets an education in the benefits of vaping.

“Smoking is not good for you. The science is in. It’s one thing to smoke once a week, once a month, but the majority of people smoke many times, and this is just not good for you,” says member Bodizepha.

Taser.
A police body camera by Taser.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti unveiled plans today to outfit the LAPD with 7,000 body cameras, making L.A. the first major city to take that step. But before the cameras hit the streets, the department has to come up with a policy on when and how they will be used. And that could be tricky.
The L.A. Police Protective League, the union that represents LAPD officers, is broadly supportive of body cameras. But they want to make sure that officers can review the videos before writing up their reports.
Not so fast, says the ACLU, which calls the proposed policy “ridiculous”. More at The Informer blog.

Earlier this week, a reader passed along the following note and video to us. It’s a frustrating tale that unfortunately is all too common, even in states that allow for medical cannabis use and cultivation.
“Deborah and Dennis are elderly patients living in San Diego that decided to grow a small amount of cannabis for personal use and soon after were raided by the San Diego Narcotics Task Force. Deborah Little has been HIV positive for over 20 years and her husband suffers from nerve damage – there is no reason they should have been raided and dragged through the judicial system. Thankfully, they were both found NOT GUILTY in the end, but not before the public officials made their life a living hell for nearly 2 years. It is a true injustice that patients are still having to deal with this in 2014.”

Last month, after the Denver Westword shared Denver Police Department concerns about trick-or-treaters possibly receiving pot edibles while trick-or-treating this Halloween, literally hundreds of readers dismissed such fears as unreasonable and reactionary. But the DPD isn’t backing down.
The department has now issued a video in which Urban Dispensary owner Patrick Johnson describes the visual similarities between typical goodies and the infused kind and suggests that any unwrapped candies handed out on Halloween be tossed as a precaution — the same advice that’s been given since he was a kid, he adds.

Did you know that Colorado is suffering from a terrible marijuana shortage? Neither did we — but if it ever happens, the folks at NYHETER24 have created a “public-service announcement” dubbed Colorado #SaveTheWeed that should help you get through it. The hashtags that will help remind the kind community to conserve include #SmokeSmart, #WasteOfWeed, #ShotgunMySack, #GunninWithMyBros, #NotYourWeed, #OnlyReallyHaveEnoughForMyself and, of course, #HoldThatShitIn.

Comedian-turned-political-rabble-rouser Steve Berke may have lost his latest bid for Miami Beach mayor, but he hasn’t given up on spreading the message of his pet political project: legalized pot.
Berke is back with a stab at viral video campaigning with a pro-medical marijuana parody of “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease. He even apparently tracked down the original funhouse set used in the 1978 film.

John Morgan.

Opposition to the legalization of medical marijuana has been circulating a cell-phone video showing United for Care benefactor John Morgan giving a profanity-laced speech to young voters about marijuana. The anti-medical marijuana group No On 2 cut down a six-minute video of Morgan at a post-debate party last week, showing him ranting about marijuana to a rowdy crowd.
This, No On 2 is trying to show, is proof that the quest for legalized medical marijuana is a front to getting marijuana legalized outright in Florida.
