Officer Ricard Flores was charged with burglary, petty theft and possession of marijuana after picking a bud from a plant seized for evidence |
What is it with these stoner cops, anyway? Can’t they buy their own supply?
A Florida police officer was arrested and suspended Wednesday after he took a bud of marijuana from a large quantity of pot the department had seized in an investigation, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.
Ricardo Flores, 36, was charged with burglary of a conveyance, petty theft and possession of marijuana, less than 20 grams, reports Tampa Bay Online. He was booked into Polk County Jail and his being held without bail, according to the jail website.
Flores, who had been a cop in Winter Haven since 2006, had just ended his shift at the police department at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday. As evidence from a bust was being unloaded by detectives from a truck, Flores — who was not involved in the investigation of this case — walked up to the pickup and picked a marijuana bud from a plant, quickly concealing it, police said.
The sticky-fingered officer left the police department in his personal vehicle with the fragrant flower on his person.
Another cop saw what Flores did, so the larcenous lawman was contacted by detectives and asked to return to the station.
When he returned, in what was surely a Kodak moment, detectives “recovered” the marijuana bud from Flores and arrested him.
“I’m extremely disappointed with Flores, his criminal conduct and his arrogance to think that the laws do not apply to him,” said Winter Haven Police Chief Gary Hester.
Fuck that. I’m disappointed in this two-bit bud-snatcher in blue for traitorously becoming an agent of oppression and hiding his love of weed as if it’s something of which he should be ashamed.
