Study: Pot Use Spiking Amongst Poor and Uneducated

A study found that daily marijuana use is growing rapidly, especially among users who are “poor and lack a high school diploma.” “What’s going on here is that over the last 20 years marijuana went from being used like alcohol to being used more like tobacco, in the sense of lots of people using it every day,” according to one of the researchers. (See the study here.)

The number of U.S. cannabis users is set to exceed tobacco users within a few years.

Professor Wayne Hall dislikes drugs. So much so, he advises the World Health Organization on drug issues and teaches “addiction policy” at the King’s College in London. According to Hall, he’s gone through 20 years of research and can show that marijuana leads to mental illness, sick babies and car crashes.
His findings are based on government-funded (anti-cannabis) reports from the last 20 years that he hand-selected. Basically, he’s parroting other, old reports and passing it off as something new.

When Colorado passed the most permissive cannabis laws in the history of the world this week, stakeholders did everything they could to prevent the corporate takeover of “Phizanto Morris” in the state. That’s what they’ll tell you, at least. In reality, they just fucked over toking entrepreneurs in 49 states, D.C., and whatever Puerto Rico is these days.

Let’s start that serious national conversation about marijuana! Seventy-five years late is better than never. Why now? Because marijuana legalization support is growing and is more popular by several points then any politician in the country! 
  
This new marijuana majority has the momentum, the votes and the moral high ground; if you support prohibition you are showing your age and your lack of medical science knowledge and you shouldn’t be in office making decisions that affect young people 18-34 who are the new face of America.
 
This new marijuana spring just gave birth to legalization.

These are strange and actually wonderful times. For many the pipe is still half full and for others, the pipe is losing its fire. While everyone may be talking about medical marijuana, the few that count refuse to acknowledge the subject and do something about it.
In California, this past week, two bills that would have lessened the heat and made the competition for Medical Marijuana Bowl favor our side a little, came up short. Even with that defeat, activists still have hope and are searching for dollars and signatures.
What I find most hopeful, leading me to believe that the pipe is going to smoke no matter what, is that the straights are coming out for medical marijuana.
