These are the true Stoner MacGyvers of the world. Below are our ten favorite homemade bongs on the internet that we would (probably) never smoke out of.

10. The Box Bong
It looks like someone duct-taped together a few plexiglass pieces and put a Big Gulp straw on the other end. But it utilized duct tape, so it had to be included. No doubt the amount of water this thing takes makes it feel like chugging a bong hit out of a bathtub.

Patients Out of Time
It’s true enough what the federal wordsmiths of spin roll out about there being a conspiracy to make cannabis available to the sick in the United States. There is such a cabal of cannabis crusaders working to undermine the U.S. government’s role in determining what medicine(s) patients can use, and when, and how.
I know most of these people and let me assure you that they are serious about their goal (1). I’m one of the conspirators.
Some, like Libertarians and the Tea Party stalwarts, are half crazy about the wide reach of all governments into their lives — negative, as they see it. Many are politically active, seeing the election of selected politicians the key to a change in the rules of cannabis prohibition regardless of whether they sport a red or blue tie. The politically oriented see a goal of 21 states with legal cannabis as
a jump off for a Constitutional Amendment process — a move that places
decisions best made by health care professionals in the hands of non-medical citizens.

Veterans for Medical Cannabis

I have written about cannabis used for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), cancer, pain, post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) and other maladies but there is a patient story that needs addressing. For him when you say cannabis he says marijuana, when you say it’s medical he says it’s a farce, when you say endocannabinoid system he says, What?
It’s my uncle (1). He’s sick in the head. No one I know has any one idea of what would cause such a problem. Everybody agrees it is a combination of forces, you could also say pressures that have warped his thinking. I’ve spoken to dozens of cannabis experts in my time and all think the same – my uncle’s lost his mind.

Center For Legal Cannabis
Under Washington state’s I-502, the Liquor Control Board will not license cannabis businesses that are within 1,000 feet of schools, parks, playgrounds, libraries, child care centers, recreation centers, public transit centers, and game arcades

Tuesday Lecture In Seattle Will Cover I-502 Prohibited Zones
In the wake of the historic voter decision to legalize cannabis in Washington state, licensed marijuana retailers may become a reality by December 2013. But good luck getting such a license in Seattle, said one researcher, with the zoning requirements put in place by Initiative 502.
“Nowhere will it be more difficult to site a licensed cannabis business than in urban areas, particularly in the Seattle metropolitan area,” said Ben Livingston with the Center for Legal Cannabis, a newly formed “think tank and project incubator.”
Livingston started mapping federal “school zones” two months ago after the DEA sent letters to dozens of medical cannabis businesses and their landlords, warning them to shut down.

Irvin Rosenfeld/Facebook

Irvin Rosenfeld has smoked more than 125,000 U.S. government marijuana cigarettes over the past 30 years.

Editor’s note: Did you know that for the past three decades, the U.S. federal government has been providing a handful of patients with medical marijuana? The program grew out of a 1976 court settlement that created the country’s first legal cannabis smoker, Robert C. Randall, and the creation of the Compassionate Use Investigative New Drug Program.

Federal Medical Marijuana Patient
President Obama, you now have to make a decision with regard to how the federal government will answer the groundswell of support nationwide not only for medical use of cannabis, but also for outright legalization.

Why am I writing? Of the final four federal medical marijuana (cannabis) patients in the United States, I am the longest surviving member, and I believe I have a unique voice on this issue. On November 20, I will be starting my thirty-first year of receiving 10 to 12 cannabis cigarettes per day for severe bone tumor disorders.
It serves as a muscle relaxant, an anti-inflammatory, an analgesic, and has kept my tumors from growing for more than 38 years. I am in great shape for someone with my conditions. That’s because I have the right medicine.

Continued access to medicine threatened by a request to withdraw PTSD as a qualifying condition for the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program
Military veterans and other patients to petition the Governor and the Secretary of Health: Don’t Take Away Our Medicine
More than 3,000 New Mexican residents with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are actively enrolled in the state’s Medical Cannabis Program. Many of them are military veterans, patients living with disabilities, and victims of serious trauma and violent crime. Unfortunately, their continued access to medicine is being threatened by a request to withdraw PTSD as a qualifying condition for the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program.

Lotions, Salves & Oils… Oh, my!
By Sharon Letts
“Why would you put something in your mouth, you can’t swallow?” my friend asked, showing me the label of a trusted tube of toothpaste.
It was 1975. I was 16, she was 17, and the “Clean Air & Water Acts” were in effect, opening up a whole new topic of conversation at home…. How would we make our own difference? Shortly after that conversation I bought my first tube of “Tom’s of Maine” (Fennel) toothpaste, and have not looked back.
Around that same time my mom gave me my first bottle of fancy face lotion – “Oil of Olay.” The glass bottle of thin, pink cream with its black cap seemed elegant and French to my young, impressionable mind. It smelled good, was soft on my face, and I had seen it in magazines. It must have been alright, right?

Peter Reynolds of Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR)

By Kevin John Braid
Special to Toke of the Town
You may remember a couple of months ago I wrote about the despotic behaviour of Peter Reynolds, the leader of the British political party, Cannabis Law Reform, or CLEAR for short.
Things were not looking good for the UK cannabis movement. Attempts by former members of the CLEAR Exec, Chris Bovey and Greg de Hoedt, to topple Reynolds had failed, as Reynolds unconstitutionally sacked them.
Reynolds even filed bogus reports to the British police against those who challenged him, falsely accusing them of hacking the CLEAR web site and boasting on Facebook they were likely to receive a couple of years in prison. Dorset police have since confirmed no action is being taken against the people Reynolds reported with regards to his allegations.

Landrace cannabis grows wild in Nepal

Police in Nepal reported on Monday that they have made the largest marijuana bust in the nation’s history, seizing about 2.5 tons from a dealer near the capital city, Kathmandu.

Officers found 5,820 pounds (2,640 kilos) of cannabis packed into 88 plastic sacks “and bound for India,” police superintendent Sher Bahadur Basnet told Agence France Presse.
The haul had a street value in Nepal of about $155,000, according to Basnet, but it would be worth far more on the international market.
