Approving Proposition 205 in Arizona would mean a new level of freedom for adults and help lead a national reform of marijuana laws, Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer said in a speech in Tempe on Wednesday.

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol brought Blumenauer to Arizona State University to speak on behalf of the marijuana-legalization measure. The Democrat and 20-year member of Congress is one of the nation’s highest-profile pro-marijuana activists.

“Verifying their stories is as difficult as finding your way through the forest at night.”

A major investigation by The Center for Investigative Reporting’s Reveal project found “ dozens of accounts of sexual exploitation, abuse and trafficking” in the northern California grow regions. In Humboldt County alone 352 people went missing, more per capita than any other county in California.

A Ferguson solidarity march last week in Minneapolis turned ugly when a man drove through activists and pinned a teenage girl under his car, sending her to the hospital. The incident made news rounds (with media capturing footage) and went viral online–and that’s where we meet Santa Ana Police Sergeant Michelle Miller.
On her Facebook page, the sarge shared a wacky right-wing article titled “Driver Plows Through Ferguson Protestors In Minnesota.”
“I would have done the same,” she wrote. “I’m surprised this didn’t happen more.” A friend added, “what are these savages thinking?”

Last night, President Barack Obama announced he will take executive action to shield five million undocumented immigrants from deportation. The prime-time speech was big news in the U.S., kicking up a political skirmish ahead of the 2016 elections. But it was far from the continent’s top story. Instead, that title goes to the disappearance and presumed assassination of 43 students in Mexico.
The American media has largely ignored the unrest down south. Bizarrely, the Book Fair has brought the news to Miami anyway. Earlier this week, prize-winning Mexican writer Elena Poniatowska compared the massacre to the horrors of the “concentration camps.” And in an interview to promote his own appearance this weekend, fellow writer Francisco Goldman tells New Times that this is a “terrifying and exhilarating” moment for Mexico.

Virginia Ervin gave up college and motherhood to protect her criminal boyfriend after he set her and her baby on fire

“She then realized that both her and her child’s hair were on fire”
Not the sort of words you’ll ever hear leading up to a ‘Mother of the Year’ acceptance speech, but those just so happen to be the exact words written in the affidavit prepared by officers from the Missoula Police Department after investigating the aftermath of a hash oil related explosion earlier this month.
18-year old Virginia Ervin, a student at the University of Montana, initially avoided being arrested in connection to the apartment explosion that we reported on two weeks ago. As the smoke was still clearing on the scene, she readily admitted that she made a conscious decision to “just chill” with her infant child in the same apartment where the highly explosive hash oil extraction was being performed. Still, she walked away free…until last Friday.

The election is exactly one month away, which means it’s time to crank things up to 11 to get people informed and involved. With that firmly the quest, United for Care has been hitting the road throughout Florida, holding rallies and garnering support for Amendment 2.
And the rally will be making its way to Broward and Palm Beach Today. There will be four events — student rallies, speeches, forums, and town-hall discussions — spread throughout the day.

Once upon a time in the 90’s, the 2 Live Crew went to the Supreme Court for the right to record, perform, and sell songs like “We Want Some Pussy,” “Me So Horny,” and “Face Down Ass Up.”

They are first amendment heroes of the highest order, and free speech warriors whose contributions to global culture will never be forgotten. They also believe in legalizing marijuana, the medical benefits of cannabis, and the right of all Americans to spark the herb if they so choose. Here’s what Fresh Kid Ice, and Brother Marquis had to say about Indica, smuggling dirty music, and the true meaning of smoked sausage ahead of their September 27th and 28th Colorado concerts at Platinum 84 strip club in Denver.

Legalize this for medical reasons in Florida.

Super trial lawyer John Morgan is on the road this month talking up Amendment 2, the move to legalize medical marijuana in Florida that he’s pumped millions of his own dollars into supporting. That’s when Morgan made two deadly errors, at least in the minds of Amendment 2’s opponents: He appealed to potheads and sounded a little drunk while doing so. This morning, the tape makes its debut in the newest attack ads against the proposal.
“If you motherfuckers don’t get up and vote,” Morgan tells the raucous crowd, “Fuck it all, we can’t win.”
He’s right, motherfuckers. Vote.

Anti-medical marijuana group Drug Free America Foundation has taken it up a notch on their “Amendment 2 has loopholes that will lead to legalized marijuana” talking point by putting up a billboard attacking John Morgan.
Morgan, the Orland-based attorney and medical marijuana advocate who has poured millions of his own money into getting Amendment 2 passed, recently made headlines with a profanity-laced speech he gave a group of young voters during a post-debate party last week.
