Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley wants to shutter dispensaries that sell medical marijuana for profit. But the issue is far from settled.

This is the latest salvo in California's long conflict over whether, and under what circumstances, medical marijuana, like other therapeutic drugs, can be bought and sold.
