In an edit appearing Monday afternoon, NCI replaced a sentence about marijuana's direct anti-tumor effect with one saying that it is prescribed mainly to control nausea, pain and insomnia for cancer patients, reports Kyle Daly at The Colorado Independent.
The original language, published to the Web on March 17, had read:

In the practice of integrative oncology, the health care provider may recommend medicinal Cannabis not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct antitumor effect.

this is pretty upsetting. they got proof that cannabis works, it just seems like any advancement we make someone gets pissed off and doesnt like the facts that are provided and starts acting like an immature child because "it will change so much!" I forgot to add that I am a chronic pain patient on 480mg of Oxycontin who vomits daily due to such a high dosage.I am prescribed Marinol but if I were to rely on just that,I would have died 2 years ago.I went from nearly 400lbs to 234lbs vomiting daily on opiates before I took matters into my own hands and started smoking weed like I was in highschool again.I now weigh a comfortable 260 but need to use cannabis or my food doesn't stay down.I owe my life to cannabis yet I live in fear every day of arrest.It is assinine for this to continue.It defys common sense even.I am ready to set myself aflame for the cause..and let patients smoke my residual ashes.
