The further relaxation of the Alpine nation's already liberal cannabis laws has been agreed upon by four regions in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, reports Ian Sparks at the Daily Mail.
"We have agreed these new rules to prevent drugs tourism between regions where the rules are different, and to stop them buying it on the streets," said a spokesman for the Neuchatel region of Switzerland.
"But one person cannot start growing more than four plants just by claiming they live with other people," the spokesman said. "In this case, these other people have to actually be cultivating the plants themselves. This means attending to the plant in such a way as to make it grow."
"This basically means that you can grow four more plants for every housemate you have -- just as long as they know how to hold a watering can," quipped the Swiss daily newspaper Le Matin.
The rules come into effect on January 1, 2012 in the Swiss cantons of Vaud, Neuchatel, Geneva and Fribourg.

Can't a guy assist his Grandma ?Caregivers and Medical are another situation.It is a start and needs revising already to about Ten plants each.Females Flowering limit and when starting plants there needs to be a variance.of 30 babies How can one citizen possibly live with such restraints ?A lot better than the days when even one plant attracted grief and drama.I suppose But Switzerland has had that kind of laid back attitude anyway in the city.The Rural districts vary.

oh yeah great help for the disabled, ie pain stricken, wise decision, get all the other so called governments to follow suit, Im getting so I cant stand those blase bland types anyway, what shit they been up to.
This is really awesome news! The only "but" I have though is, what about people who require Medical Cannabis and are physically unable to tend to a garden - will they be able to designate someone to grow for them?

I wonder how many people will flock to their country,,just as CA would of had a wave of people moving in if Prop 19 had passed.
They may have to put a fence around their border to keep illegal American immigrants out.

If nothing improves here in the U.S. I know where I will be moving too. I could manage with 4 plants to keep me supplied.

Hopefully this gets fully implemented and can be used as a model for the rest of the world when the time comes.

Who knows maybe one of the States will get lucky in next years election and will be able to say the same thing on January 1st 2013. Keep hope alive.
