Grope and Pillage: $60 Billion Wasted So Far On TSA

It's a safe bet that most travelers personally despise the airport body scanners used by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (and their health risks, possibly including cancer), not to mention the groping that passengers must endure if they turn down the body scan.

Meanwhile, in Europe, with more public awareness, body scanners have been banned due to health and safety concerns. A lawsuit claiming "cancer clusters" in TSA employees has been filed, which could unearth even more damning evidence against the devices.

Will America do something about the wasteful, dangerous, and invasive practices and body scanners of TSA... before they start showing up at roadblocks, on buses, trains, and at concerts?

I use to fly almost every time I went somewhere even if it was a neighboring state. Now I drive even if it's a few states away because I don't feel like being assaulted and probed. Driving can be a lot of fun if you stop and see things you never took time to see before.

Especially if your under the influence of a non harmful substance and aren't a virgin novice. I always drive and fly at the same time. I get in my cab, and I fly, so high, when I'm stoned. Saw my dad just the other day, he said not now son, I said that's OK.

The company that built the scanners was a large campaign contributor, therefore they are a priority, enough so to invent a whole new Gov agency to implement their product.

TSA has nothing to do with safety. It's about Payola.

That's the stupidest fucking thing I've read this year. Truth of the matter is that most people who fly these days (and all days before) are doing it as part of their jobs. How would you like it if someone set up a scanner in front of your place of work and forced you to either be x-rayed or groped before you could enter?
