"A big fat YES on Measure 80..." and that's what you are getting folks, an obese interpretation of the Oregon's Medical Marijuana Program, sponsored by cash cows, pigs and fishes.
Earlier this week the Eastern Oregonian reported that by 2030 over half of the United States will be obese! Imagine how soon that will come to pass if Oregon, Washington and Colorado pass their "corporate cannablitzz" campaigns!
Nothing in Measure 80 suggests that the MMJ supporters of this bill even know what holistic benefits can be derived from the traditional, cultural aesthetic benefits of kanabous. There is nothing about m80 that even suggests that these folks are aware of what was in store (original intent) when Oregonians passed Measure 67! After 14 years the players in this movement place no interest in the professional administration of Measure 67 nor do they sponsor or model any sense of mature representation or cooperation that would garner the respect and support from the general public.
What? No revenue to develop or support a professional guild of CareProviders, Holistic Practitioners, Patient Advocates or mentors? No thought towards how to best exchange values between interested parties other than the status quo & capitalistic creed where "time is money." Health care and big business, it doesn't work folks! Legalization is not going to roll back prohibition. That's what needs to happen with this... we don't need more statute laws to fight over but rather a reasonable interpretation of the Constitution and our Bill of Rights (obscured by commercial interest's). If people had respect for the code it would ease tensions with law enforcement and perhaps the judicial system could relax it's grip as well. However, most folks haven't even read m67 nor do they understand the lexicon of terms and definitions that define the privilege's and what it means to carry a card, which to many of us is like a passport & a key to the constitution itself!
Has anyone considered the escalation in police brutality within the last 2 years associated with the legalization efforts? Does anyone with half a wit not realize that we are living in a police state poised for Martial Law and a complete meltdown of what little is left of our civil rights? Has any one of you considered the fact that passing this measure will sack Oregon's infrastructure which is already burdened with the influx of 5,000+ immigrants a year moving to our state? Should Measure 80 pass this could provoke the Federal Government into a civil war with our state! These guys love their toys and technology, are often bored stiff & they want to flex some muscle!
I've been an advocate for OMA for nearly 25 years. I want to encourage you Heads to "Just say no" to the corporate cannablitz.con smoke screen campaign and discourage the imperial profiteers from coveting one of the last resources we have left, with which to create an economy of solidarity and autonomy from big government. Industrialize the hemp but keep the flower power in the hands of the folk, it's what we need to decentralize from the disease of big business, greed and slavery. Most everyone today is subject to the $12:60 corporate treadmill and we have been Very Patient. Localize home economy, holistic care and small business. Be well, thank you!
