McDonald’s is my kind of place. Iowa City Police arrested Ronald McDonald for possession of marijuana and allowing others to use pot at his residence on Sunday.

Officers responded to the 44-year-old’s residence after receiving a report of a “suspicious odor,” according to police. Outside McDonald’s residence, officers said they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the house, reports Lee Hermiston at the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
Further investigation revealed “a quantity of marijuana” and other drug use paraphernalia, police claimed.

Officers interviewed McDonald and other people present, and were given consent to search McDonald’s house. (Rule number one: NEVER consent to a search. Make them get a warrant. It will NOT “be better for you” to consent.)
Upon searching the residence, officers found a jar containing marijuana residue in McDonald’s room.
Police claimed McDonald admitted to smoking some marijuana located in the kitchen, as well.
McDonald was charged with possession of marijuana and “permitting a gathering for the use of drugs.” (What a quaint charge! Wonder how often they misuse that one.)
Also charged Sunday were Deandre Lamar Ronald Irby, 19, and Sven Michael Jones Hovland, 20, both of Iowa City.
Police claimed Irby admitted smoking marijuana at McDonald’s residence. He was charged with possession of pot.
According to police, Hovland had marijuana, a scale, ledgers, a pipe and cash in his possession.
Police claimed Hovland admitted providing the marijuana for the gathering and selling marijuana. He was charged with possession of pot with intent to deliver.
