Some Victims Were Tied Up, Pistol Whipped; All Were Robbed of Marijuana
Police in Bremerton and Kitsap County, Washington have arrested three men who they believe broke into and robbed at least a dozen homes of marijuana users in recent months.
People at some of the victimized homes were legal medicinal cannabis users, while others were illegal users, according to Bremerton police, reports Josh Farley of the Kitsap Sun.
The home invasion robberies began September 15 and continued until Wednesday night, when detectives caught the three men — two 21-year-old Bremerton men and Poulsbo, Washington man, also 21 — en route to yet another marijuana hold-up, Bremerton Police Sgt. Kevin Crane said.
Detectives investigating the crimes believe the suspects were targeting both legal and illegal marijuana users, according to Crane. Because cannabis was involved, police suspect that some of the robberies went unreported, Crane said.
The robberies occurred in the Bremerton and Central Kitsap County areas, according to Crane.
“Some victims have been tied up, some were shot at, and others have been pistol whipped during the frightening events,” Crane said. “These robberies have been extremely traumatizing for the victims.”
Crane said that more people could be involved in the marijuana robbery scheme, which he called a “small criminal enterprise.” The investigation is continuing.
