Those of you who choose to use cannabis medically or recreationally should be aware that the herb has certain side effects.
In the interest of keeping the public informed, we hereby present a warning label.
We aren’t just blowing smoke about that bliss thing, either.
The sense of euphoria and calm that many people report are due to marijuana’s effect on the endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for feelings of “pure happiness, elation, a feeling of unity with one’s self and/or nature, endless peacefulness,” and “inner harmony.”
Cannabis does this because the phytocannabinoid THC is an almost exact match for the body’s own endocannabinoids.
For more on the body’s own “bliss molecule,” anandamide (from the Sanskrit for bliss, delight, or “the bliss within”), see Worth Repeating: Body’s Own Cannabinoids Are The Bliss Within by Ron Marczyk.
