Colorado Dispensary Holds Huge “Green Friday” Promotion, Press Freaks Out

Last week, we noted that marijuana businesses were embracing Black Friday, with The Grass Station leading the charge via $50 ounces for the first sixteen customers on November 26-28. And while the promotion was presumably aimed at local customers, the whole “Green Friday” concept definitely got national exposure.


Here’s a look at The Grass Station’s Black Friday ad, as shared on its Facebook page:

Unsurprisingly, the $50 ounce deal is the one that jumped out at the national press, whose reps made Grass Station owner Ryan Fox’s phone jingle plenty of times in advance of the sale. CNN shared his comments under this illustration….

Meanwhile, local news choppers assigned to find lines of shoppers on Friday couldn’t help noticing that The Grass Station had attracted one of its own, as seen in this tweet from Fox31’s Will C. Holden:


From a sheer publicity standpoint, the offer was an enormous success — but it couldn’t have been easy on employees. In response to a note that reads, “Hope you’re having fun,” a staffer replied with two simple words: “Help. Me.”
