Stop by The Front Tea and Arts weekday mornings and you’ll find a typical small-town Colorado coffee shop, showcasing a wide range of teas and coffees plus the work of local artists. But lately on certain evenings, the smell of roasted beans switches over to the smell from vaporized bowls of Colorado ganja.
Formerly (as in last week) dubbed The Hive, the coffee shop is really just a gathering spot for cannabis users 21 and up to get together and swap herb and stories. No marijuana is actually bought or sold; that would be illegal. It operates as a bring-your-own-buds spot, although sharing is not only accepted but encouraged. The co-op meets every night except for Thursdays. Most of the time, the evenings involve casual hanging out — but The Front also holds events like poetry and game nights.

Oakland Lawsuit in U.S. District Court to Stop Seizure of Property of Oakland Dispensary
Oakland City Attorney Barbara Parker and San Francisco law firm Morrison & Foerster have announced that the City of Oakland filed a complaint Wednesday in United States District Court to stop the federal government from seizing an Oakland building used by a medical marijuana dispensary.
“This is a great day for medical marijuana patients and for the residents of Oakland,” said Steph Sherer, executive director of Americans for Safe Access, a medical marijuana patients’ advocacy organization. “City Attorney Parker is ray of sunshine for all patients who have been watching the federal government jeopardize their access to medical marijuana.”

Picture the State of California in your mind. Now imagine the Attorney General taking a pair of Federal scissors and cutting along the dotted line below and above California’s largest city, leaving Los Angeles as an island. Not content to stop there, Cali’s Top Law Dog is now on a serrated blood trail with Federal Fiskars in hand.
She continues undercutting the will of the People by lopping off areas of California like a mad child decapitating paper dolls. Soon, if she has her way, all of California’s dispensaries will be gone.

If you support medical marijuana patients, don’t buy Ping golf clubs. They don’t want to be associated with you, anyway.

Golf club manufacturer Ping is threatening to leave its Phoenix headquarters after 45 years if a medical marijuana dispensary is allowed in the neighborhood, according to its attorney. If you support medical marijuana patients, you definitely want to think twice before buying anything made by these morons.

While most dispensary applications sailed through without opposition, Ping objected strenuously to an applicant for a site at 1944 W. North Lane, one block south of the company’s headquarters, reports Michael Clancy at The Arizona Republic.
Ping representative Stephen Earl told a Phoenix hearing officer that the company is “considering” investing $170 million to renovate its headquarters, but “may not do so if the neighborhood decline continues.”

‘Manhattan Madam’ Kristin Davis: “Marijuana is a $10 billion a year industry in New York state. Its legalization and taxation would help New York’s current financial crises.”

Potential New York gubernatorial candidate Kristin Davis, the self-styled “Manhattan Madam,” has endorsed California’s proposal to legalize and tax marijuana, and says New York state should be next.

“Californians have figured out what New Yorkers need to figure out,” Davis said, reports James Nani at LegislativeGazette.com. “Marijuana is a $10 billion a year industry in New York state. Its legalization and taxation would help New York’s current financial crises.”
David, who says she booked prostitutes for former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, is former vice president of a California-based hedge fund. She established a high-priced call girl service before pleading guilty to promoting prostitution and serving four months in Rikers Island jail.
Davis is considering running for governor as a Libertarian and plans to attend that party’s political convention in Albany on April 24. According to her  spokesman, Andrew Miller, her campaign has been in talks with members of the Libertarian Party.
