We’ve called hash vaporizers the brown paper bags of toking in the past, but a new study shows that hash pens aren’t fooling anyone: People just don’t care. According to a survey of over 1,000 adults, vaporizing cannabis in public isn’t that big of a deal to most.

Sober living website Detox.net asked over 1,000 adults ranging in age from eighteen to 78 for their opinions about vaping weed in public, and their responses should make you feel better next time you’re plugging away at that hash pen while waiting for an Uber.

Sales data has shown a consistent growth in cannabis extracts and other forms of consumption as the legal pot industry advances. While part of the allure is sheer novelty, many new technologies have given medical patients more standardized treatment and retail users more consistent effects.

Colorado extraction company Ebbu’s products are known for unconventional consumption methods, like its water-infusing THC drops that landed the company a partnership with Blue Moon creator Keith Villa to manufacturer a THC-infused, non-alcoholic beer. The company represents a shift toward chemistry in the legal cannabis community, mapping out the vast and varying constellations of different cannabinoids. But what can the plant’s genetic makeup do for mankind as we learn more about it? We chatted with Ebbu general manager Damon Michaels to find out.

Clinical trials that study medical marijuana are few and far between because of the plant’s federally illegal status. Colorado has been the rare exception to that rule, thanks to the passage of Amendment 64, and now the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment hopes to expand on the state’s nine currently funded MMJ studies by offering nearly $3 million more in grants for qualified research efforts.

A group of 4/20 enthusiasts stand outside Purple Haze head shop on East Colfax Avenue. Snapping selfies, two ladies wear matching “Best Buds” T-shirts boasting big, green cannabis leaves as they prepare to get giddy over ganja. They came all the way from Dallas to partake in Denver’s legal 4/20 festivities.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many places to partake outside of one’s home yet — public cannabis consumption is banned in Colorado — leaving locals and tourists alike in a bind. Although Denver has been a weed destination for several years now, the city is still figuring out the best ways to implement adult consumption in lounges or social areas. But instead of waiting for legislation to change, friends Hal Taback and Brian Spatz found a loophole, or in this case, a Loopr.

Keith Villa was working at Coors Brewing in 1995 when he created an unfiltered, Belgian-style beer that became the inspiration for the Blue Moon Brewing Company, which got its start as a special division in Golden and soon spread to locations at Coors Field and then RiNo. When the brewmaster retired from what’s now MolsonCoors early this year, he hinted that he had a plan to create a new beverage with “cutting-edge” ingredients.

And now we know what those are: Villa and his wife, Jodi, have partnered with an established Colorado cannabis extraction lab to start Ceria Beverages, a new line of THC-infused drinks with the “same onset time as alcohol,” according to a press release announcing the company’s launch.
