We’ve been saying it for years now: syntheic marijuana is absolutely nothing like real marijuana whatsoever and doesn’t deserve the inaccurate moniker whatsoever.
And it seems the Baton Rouge, Louisana coroner agrees with us.
“This is a poison,” Dr. Beau Clark, East Baton Rouge Parish’s coroner, tells The (Baton Rouge) Advocate. “It’s not really anything like marijuana.”

The demand for cannabis in Colorado this year has been stronger than anticipated, according to a recent state study on the industry.
A report filed by the state’s Marijuana Policy Group predicts that the demand for pot by adults 21 and over to reach around 121.4 metric tons this year. That’s 31 percent higher than previously estimated by the Colorado Department of Revenue.

In scenes remniscent of Colorado’s recretaionl sales in January, recreational pot stores are opening with long lines and, despite high prices, they are selling out of their inventory.
Brian Budz tells Oregon Live that he thought he had enough product to last ten days at his Vancouver-based New Vansterdam shop and instead it lasted three days. Shops like his are having to close down and open erratically as more herb comes in. Prices – ranging from $15 to $30 a gram – reflect that.

The only person in Missouri serving a life without parole sentence for nonviolent, marijuana-only charges, Mizanskey says he is overwhelmed by all the attention his case has received over the past year, which included nationwide coverage and a Change.org petition with nearly 500,000 signatures asking Governor Jay Nixon to give clemency to the 61-year-old prisoner.
Between June 1 and July 1, the State of Colorado has issued six new retail-marijuana licenses, three of them in municipalities that (until now) were strangers to recreational pot.

Colorado marked its its six-month anniversary with recreational cannabis last week. And as with many committed relationships, there’s more trust going forward.
Starting July 1, Colorado applications for retail marijuana business licenses no longer require current ownership of an operational medical marijuana business. The state is currently accepting new applications, with approved companies able to open as early as October 1. In January 2013, ex-Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo had promised to puff a joint on camera as part of a comedian/filmmaker’s movie about Colorado’s new marijuana laws should the measure pass — which it did.
Tancredo later welched on his bet under pressure from his family. But in Mile High — The COmeback of Cannabis, the now-completed documentary, which screens tonight through Thursday (with Hartle promising to give out free legal pot to adults 21 and over outside theaters), Tancredo watches as the director blazes.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo today will sign a bill making New York the 24th state to allow for medical marijuana. The bill does not allow anyone to smoke cannabis, however, and patients must either vaporize or eat the medical cannabis.
