For the second time this year, former Hollywood madam Hedi Fliess has been busted for marijuana near her home in Pahrum, Nevada.
Nye County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped Fleiss’ Toyata Land Cruiser about 3:30 Tuesday morning and found her to allegedly be under the influence “of a controlled substance”. That gave them probable cause to search her car, where they found a quarter pound of herb and about $10,000 in cash.

Think Mary Jane should be legal? You’re not alone. In just one year, the percentage of Americans who favor legalizing marijuana jumped ten percentage points from a small, 48 percent minority to a large, 58 percent majority.
Only 39 percent of people polled said marijuana should remain illegal. They also probably still think the war on drugs is money well spent.
Though legal medical marijuana sales have been allowed since July if this year in our nation’s capitol and dispensaries are open and in operation, less than 60 people have actually signed up for the program — or just 0.0093 percent of the population.
The problem isn’t a lack of interest, dispensary owners argue. It’s that the process of obtaining a recommendation is difficult and the city is strictly regulating who is and isn’t eligible for medical cannabis access.

Watch your step, medical-marijuana users: Phoenix police say they might bust you for holding the wrong kind of cookie.
In researching an upcoming cover story about marijuana food products and concentrates, “Half Baked,” Phoenix New Times asked police to clarify their position on the preparations of marijuana not protected by the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act. That includes, basically, anything but using whole buds in edibles. It’s very similar to a decision in Michigan recently surrounding the same topic.

Yes, it can help you travel around the world from the comfort of your desk chair but Google Earth is a real pain in the ass if you’re trying to hide something large on your property like, say, a cannabis grow operation.
That’s how Grant Pass, Oregon cops managed to bust Curtis W. Croft who was allegedly bragging around town about his marijuana cultivation prowess, according to the Grant Pass Daily Courier.

Missourians may not be able to legally smoke marijuana for quite some time, but it’s not because drag queens aren’t doing their part. At the Attitudes nightclub in the Grove, a contingent of drag queens and burlesque dancers hosted a benefit for Show-Me Cannabis Sunday night, when all door charges and tips from dancing and drinks went to the marijuana-legalization group.
Siren, the drag-queen emcee and promoter who organized the event, says she was approached by John Payne, executive director of Show-Me Cannabis, about the possibility of doing a drag and burlesque show. The Riverfront Times has the full story.

Legalized cannabis could sell for as low as $1 a gram in Uruguay when the country legalizes the cultivation, sales and use of cannabis later this year as expected.
Uruguay’s drug czar Julio Calzada announced the predicted low-prices for government cannabis stores earlier this week, dropping it by more than half from earlier predictions.
Portland, Maine voters this November are being asked to legalize the possession (not the purchase or sale, mind you) of up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis for adults over the age of 21 in the city. Currently, that amount is decriminalized with no jail time and a maximum $600 fine.
While the law change really won’t changemuch, news reports this week tout Portland as a test-case for future East Coast cities and states thinking about similar progressive marijuana laws. But is it?

While thrift stores are great places to donate everything from worn couches to old t-shirt, they aren’t the best places to donate cannabis – even in states where the plant is legal.
Police last week were called out to a North Seattle thrift store after an employee sorting through overnight donations at an off-site donations bin found a bag stuffed with about 2.5 pounds of ganja.
