A story recently published about drug smuggling being on the rise at many California jails contains this interesting fact about Orange County’s lockup: Not only has there been a massive increase in illegal drugs making it inside, but the county is purchasing several full-body scanners to give deputies full views of inmates’ internal organs and any contraband they might be hiding.
It gives being sent to the hole a whole new meaning! OC Weekly has more.

L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer announced this morning that he is cracking down on on Nestdrop, the “Uber for weed” app that delivers medical marijuana to your door. At a press conference this morning, Feuer said the app violates Measure D, the city’s medical marijuana initiative, which limits delivery of medical pot to patients’ primary caregivers.
“There is no lawful delivery service under Prop. D,” Feuer said. “We’re hoping that a court agrees with us.”
Spanish customs officials busted a 64-year-old man pretending to be an imam, or Islamic preacher, this week who was carrying four pounds of hash under the flowing robe of his costume.
Customs officials say they stopped Azad Bishir Levi after he stepped off a boat from Morocco with a funny walk – apparently, the kind of limp you have when you’ve not done a good job of strapping hash to your body.

Technically, CBD-only pills extracted from legal hemp grown in Europe isn’t cannabis. At least, that the argument from Boston’s Bill Downing, who operates the CBD Please store that sells CBD-only oils despite an order from the state Health Department to shut down his operations.

First, it seizes up the brain like an old Chevy being driven at full speed through the desert with no fluids; sending a violent message to the spinal cord that cripples the user in his tracks. Then comes the inability to breath properly, followed by 10-20 seconds of remaining consciousness before the brainstem resembles a rubber chicken bone, sending the person deep inside the hole to the otherside without any chance for survival. This my friends is the fierce course of the wrecking ball known as a heroin overdose, a brown drug so powerful it was once used to by the ancient Egyptians to paralyze camels in an effort to prevent them from biting during intercourse.

A lot of addicts say they needed to hit rock bottom before being ready to accept recovery. This apparently has not yet happened for Miami lawyer Kenneth Kukec. He was arrested in July after he was allegedly caught snorting lines of cocaine off the back of a toilet in a Circle K in the Florida Keys, but was back in jail on Monday after violating his pretrial release by testing positive for amphetamines.
Jon Loevy, a notable civil rights attorney in Illinois, says that if his group is allowed to open up a legal medical marijuana farm they will donate half of their earnings to education initiatives around the state.
“Illinois has created a real opportunity for profits, and a lot of the groups chasing this are hedge funds and private equity firms trying to get rich,” Loevy told the Chicago Sun-Times. “We see this as an opportunity to reroute millions of dollars to education in Illinois when it’s really needed.
The Canandian health department has issued a warning to the country’s medical cannabis growers and sellers, saying that advertising the benefits of medical cannabis online and in print has gone too far.
Health Canada sent letters to 20 licensed pot growers that outline how and when they can advertise their products – including banning photos of actual buds or linking to any third-party websites that the government deems to be “promoting” weed. Producers can’t even talk about which strains help certain conditions.
If you live in a place where marijuana is illegal and get locked out of your apartment and have left weed sitting out on the table and live plants growing in a back room, suck it up and call a locksmith or break a window and pay the cost to replace it. Whatever you do, don’t raise a scene outside and get the cops called on you. And if you can’t help yourself and have to bang and scream on the window so loud that the cops do come, do not let them let you in the door.
An Iowa woman clearly didn’t understand that very simple logic last week.
